Drama
Here at Caister Academy, Drama is a key component of a pupil’s weekly education. Pupils receive a minimum of two lessons of drama per week at KS3, alongside additional extra-curricular performing arts opportunities. Subject specialists deliver the highest quality of expert teaching in order to best allow Drama pupils to flourish in core skills such as self-awareness, improvisation and communication. Additionally, pupils have the exciting opportunity to partake in multiple drama clubs within our tailor-made drama studio. Our professional working drama studio facilitates all drama lessons and features lighting and sound equipment to accompany the array of pupil performances.
KS4 students’ study AQA GCSE Drama. This practical, yet academic, course enables students to develop skills such as interpretation of play texts, devising, theatre job opportunities and evaluation of live performances. Students will also have the option to follow a pathway of their choosing, specialising in costume, set or lighting design.
We offer many clubs and performance opportunities ranging from, The Shakespeare Festival, Whole School Summer Shows and Variety Performances.
